Project Motherland

In January 2026, the Board of AALR approved this new initiative which provides opportunities to learn, collaborate, and support our African brothers and sisters. Project Motherland realizes the dream of developing partnerships, strategies, support, and self-help initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa.

MISSION--We partner with communities, institutions, and governments across sub-Saharan Africa to build local capacity through advisory, training, and strategic partnerships to enable long-term self reliance.

VISION--A globally connected African ecosystem where continental communities and the Diaspora work as equal partners to build resilient, self-sustaining economies aligned with the African Union 's Sixth Region Vision.

STRATEGY

We strengthen organizations by combining:

Local leadership and ownership
Diaspora expertise and networks
Practical, system-level capacity building

Build systems that function independently of external support with 3-5 years.

We don't deliver aid, we transfer capability and design for exit.

NIGERIA

GHANA

The Ghana 7 are seven women who went to Ghana in December 2025. While there, we decided to support the village of Lang in a major community cleanup effort that is environmentally informed and health-focused. To that end, we donated garbage containers and other supplies used in the May 2026 United for Lang Cleanup.

In January 2027, a team of eight people will be returning to Ghana. We will be meeting with community leaders as we consider new initiatives in the country. We can use your financial support to sustain and expand our work.

Investment Tours in Ghana offer interested individuals willing to invest in sub-Saharan businesses the opportunity meet with entrepreneurs to learn about potential investment opportunities.

Other potential partnership opportunities for Project Motherland include:

Apprenticeship programs--A plan to financially support underserved and under-resourced high school graduates to attend trade schools where they can learn trades and develop skills that will support them in becoming contributing members of society.

WRAP (Water, Resources, and People)--A project to support and empower communities through environmental and sustainable gardening and farming practices.
